Measurements were ( made inade ) approximately eveiy day at the Lees Ferry ( gaging gagiiig ) station . It would be , possible to show the ( change chailge ) each and every day ( by by- by ) means of plates like this . Those measurements are taken from a cable car . . The station is a fixed point , and a cable car with a . lead weight varying from 75 to 100 pounds in ( con- con ) nection with the measurements of the daily discharge . At station 450 , ( between etveen ) those particular dates ( when Vilen ) that measurement was made , the depth ( of of' of ) the water was 17 feet greater at station 450 . So far as he knows , there is no peculiar condition which brings this about ; as far as he knows , this condition is not peculiar to that place . He would say off hand that it would apply to any section of * the Colorado River below Cataract Canyon . So far as he knows , there is nothing peculiar about the bed of the river at Lees Ferry that is ( not uot ) also found along the Colorado ( Kiver River ) from the San Juan down , except at such points as there may be rapids or riffles or gravel bars . Showing again that the change does not progress always downward on this same sheet is shown in the ( cross-section crosssection ) taken May 30 , 1926 , and ( June Julie ) , 1926 . Between those two points , in the majority of the ( cross-sections crosssections ) there was ( 33307-3.1-VOL 3330731VOL ) 1-6 |
