Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

The large motor ( boat b-oat boat ) stuck at miles 53.8 , 54.5 , 55.97 56.71 61.1 ) and 64.81 the mouth of Courthouse . Wash % mile below the dock . ( R . 229 . ) No trouble at mouth of ( Mill Alill ) ( Creek Creel ) . ( Mr "Mr Mr ) . Baldwin stated they ( very vcry ) often ( had bad ) trouble there due to sediment brought on by Mill Creek . ( R . 229 . ) Between ( Moab 'Xfoab Xfoab ) and junction of Green ( and aii-d aiid ) ( Colo- Colo ) rado Rivers and on the Colorado River he did not notice any land which in his opinion was subject to . irrigation . Mill Creek is really ( Moab Afoab ) and the end of Moab Valley and he observed no land between that point and junction of Green and Colorado that seemed capable of agricultural use . The boat dock is within two miles of ( Moab Aloab ) . ( R . 231 . ) There are two or ( thvee tkree ) places , with possibly total acreage ( 500 500- ) acres between mouth of San Rafael and mouth of Green River , surface sufficiently above ( high-water highwater high--water highwater ) flood , might be irrigated and farmed in the entire stretch of 89 or 90 miles . , ( R . 231-232 . ) He continued his examination of the Colorado River from Courthouse Wash to Castle Creek by following the secondary highway , that runs along the east bank of Colorado River , by automobile from Courthouse Wash . to Castle Creek .
