Show ( corned cerned ) , represent conditions 93 fairly accurately from the San Rafael to the mouth . In the absence of any other information ( he lie ) would accept the records at that station . He is unable to give any information as to what extent the records of the gaging stations at Bluff indicate conditions on the San Juan . To the best of his knowledge and belief , the Lees Ferry records , as far as velocities are concerned , and possibly depths , represent conditions through ( Glen Gleh" Gleh ) Canyon below the mouth of the San ( Ouan J'uan Juan ) . He would expect , knowing what he does of the San Juan , that the Bluff records might indicate conditions between the rapids and riffles . The ( rec- rec ) ords at Bluff would not in any sense indicate any velocities on the San Juan ( Elver River ) ; that is , the ( gag- gag ) ing station is so ( located-on locatedon ) account of the ( veloci veloci- veloci ) ties that are encountered , the gaging station is so located that it is on the quietest place on the San Juan ( Eiver River ) , in order to be able to obtain some ( ob- ob ) servations . The gradient is , it is true , an ( indica indica- indica ) ¬ tion of the velocity . Other conditions being equal , the velocity varies per the square root of the slope . To be exact , the velocities are equal to the constant of the square root of the hydraulic radius and time and slope . Now , if the ( cross-section crosssection ) of the bed ( re- re ) mains the same , and you have exactly the same ( cross-section crosssection ) at another point of the stream ; you have exactly the same character of bed . In other words , if your constant ( anci ancl ) your ( hour'and hourand ) ( hydrau- hydrau ) |
