Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

Not ( much inuch ) difference in the draft on second than on first trip . ( She Slle ) was loaded with coal ( instead ilistead ) of gasoline . Weighed about the ( same saine ) ; had to carry gasoline and ( coal eoal ) the biggest part of the time . So that there was nothing in the condition of the boat that made it more difficult to go down the river ( on oil ) the second trip than ( on oil ) the first . ( R . 756-757 . ) He believes the boat was shipped to Salt Lake City the following Spring and before it was shipped it just lay at Greenriver . ELLSWORTH L . ( 70S-S77 70SS77 7M-877 7M877 ) ) He resides at Grand Canyon , Arizona , is 53 years old and has had a ( common-school commonschool common-sehool commonsehool ) education and , what a person would pick up ( in iii ) a business way . In 1901 his brother and himself established a photograph studio in the Grand Canyon and it has grown from a small in , j tography . ( R . 763 . His brother and himself in 1911 started at Green River , Wyoming , ( on oil ) the Green River and went through all the ( canyons canyous ) of the Green River and from the junction of the Green and the Colorado to Needles . He afterwards got a boat and continued ( on 011 ) down to the Gulf . |
