Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

( R . 2104 . ) Lost about 90 ft . of drill rods and casing through flood . Ordered to bring outfit back . ( Went Wei-it Weiit ) up the Colorado in motor boat to Moab ; ; overland to Greenriver in auto . Remodeled Betsy Ann ( with -with with ) boiler and ; engine . ( R . 2110-2111 . ) Loaded it with a little coal . ( Motor Alotor ) boats pushed one scow , and the Marguerite the other . Proceeded upstream . ( R . 2111 . ) The Marguerite had brought the stuff down from ( Greenriver Greeliriver ) to junction for the remodelling . ( R . 2111 . ) Coal also ( brought brou-ght brought ) down . ( R . 2112 . ) Going upstream on Green River ; proceeded slowly ; had difficulty around bends , grounded on sandbars , picked wrong channels . Took four or five days to get to ( Wimmer's Wimmers ) ranch ; stopped there , encountered series of gravel bars , shallow fast water ; not possible to bring outfit up over bars . ( R . . 2112-2114 . ) Unloaded at ( Wimmer's Wimmers Winimer's Winimers ) Ranch and equipment by wagon to Greenriver . All boats that went down to junction were brought up excepting one rowboat , which was lost at junction . ( R .
