A great deal of ( debris de'bris debris ) is brought down into the river from each side wash which has formed rapids . ( R . 232 . ) Such conditions obtain from near the mouth of Sheep Creek , mile 68 , about 3 miles above bridge at Moab . Between mile 68 and mouth of Castle Creek , mile 79 , the river is much deeper than down below . The rapids are all in heavy gravel and rock ( boul- boul ) , ders , with a fall of one to four feet . There is no longer any quiet water . Upstream progress with . a boat is naturally limited by rapids you hit there , beginning at about Sheep Creek and running upstream . ( R . 233 . ) On the Colorado River between mouth of Green . and ( Moab AIoab ) , ( the Die ) same conditions of instability obtain there as ( on oil ) the Green River . Approaching Castle ( Creek Crech ) conditions are more of a mountain stream . ( R . 233 . ) Characteristics of the two streams are very nearly the same . ( More Afore ) crossing bars were ( ob- ob ) served ( on oil ) Colorado than ( on oil ) the Green . ( R . 234 . ) The Colorado is straighter between junction and ( Moab Aloab ) . The windings of the river account for the ( cross- cross ) ing bar conditions ; the crossing bar forms wherever the current crosses from one side of the river to the ( other -other other ) . .
