Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

( R . 1497 . ) These men were not with the ( boating boatipg ) party , ( merelj7 merely ) a supply party that brought in stlj r ( "Plies Plies ) to the mouth of Bull Frog Creek . He saw Mr . ( "Wimmer Wimmer ) more than once , and '114 was there in camp with them until he left . lle ( doesn't doesnt ) remember whether or not he left ( Wimmer Wimmer- Wimmer ) at Bull Frog Creek when the expedition wlrs ( finished fil-iished filiished ) . ( R . 1498 . ) Did not see any other boats on that ( fir8t-16 fir8t16 ) : ¬ dition . Tom Humphrey had one , but ( didult-ui didultui ) 4i U , 7 h ( Siiiall s0all ) boat . ( R . 1498 . ) It was a row boat . f " ( tHe Ile ) saw ( a'mining amining ) dredge at the mouth of Bull , Frog that was not in use ; it was abandoned . He saw ( 110 no ) boats on the river . There were no ( sigiis signs ) of places where the dredge had been working . ( He Ile ) left the boat there at Bull Frog Creek for Mr . ( Winimer Wimmer ) to use in hauling supplies from Bull Frog to where they were needed below , when they come back through , down through the Cataract ; this boat was left there [ on the first expedition 1921 ] before they came through Cataract canyon . ( Ro 1499-1500 . ) Mr . Wimmer was in the employ of the ( govern govern- govern ) ( ment nient ) . He was not to take the supplies down to the Coast Survey Party . The Coast Survey Party had their own outfit . |
