Suevo- rum gens est longe maxima & bellicosissima Germanorum omnium. 1 Ii centum pagos habere dicuntur : ex quibus quotannis singula millia arma- torum, bellandi caussa, suis ex finibus educunt. Mercatoribus est ad eos aditus, eo magis vt quæ bello ceperint, quibus vendant, habeant, quam quo vllam rem ad se impor- tari desiderent. Quin etiam 5 jumentis, quibus maxime Gallia delectatur, quæque impenso parat pretio, Germani importatis non vtuntur : sed quæ <N=20> sunt apud eos nata prava atque deformia, hæc quotidiana exercitatione, summi vt sint laboris, efficiunt.
