Show <pn 475> FRAGMENTA. Paulo post: Ex Plut. in Cæs. <p>Vbi vero ad eum allatum est manus sibi Catonem violentas attulisse, osten- dit ea re se morderi Cæsar. Qua vero de causa obscurum est. Ait autem: Invideo tibi Cato, hoc lethum, siquidem mihi tuam salutem invidisti. Enimvero quam postea in Catonem defunctum orationem scripsit, non ap- paret benigni vel placabilis in eum animi habere significationem. Quî enim pepercisset vivo, in quem exanimem tantam bilem effuderit? Paulo post nec conjectant hunc librum odio, sed civili adductum ambitione commentatum fuisse ex ejusmodi causa. Scripsit Cicero Catonis laudationem, cui libro Ca- tonem nomen indidit, is nimirum omnium manibus terebatur, vt ab Ora- tore eloquentissimo in argumento factus præstantissimo. Pupugit id Cæsarem suum esse crimen arbitratum ejus qui sui causa mortuus esset laudationem. Scripsit igitur ejus criminationem, multis in eum collectis criminibus, li- brum Anticatonem inscripsit.
