Id ex itinere oppugnare conatus, quod vacum ab defensoribus esse audiebat, propter latitudinem fossæ murique altitudinem, paucis defendentibus, expugnare non potuit. 2 Castris munitis vineas age- <N=5>re, quæque ad oppugnandum vsui erant, comparare cœpit. Interim om- nis ex fuga Suessonum multitudo in oppidum proxima nocte convenit. Celeriter vineis ad oppidum actis, 3 aggere jacto, turribusque constitutis, magnitudine operum, quæ neque viderant ante Galli, neque audierant, & celeritate Romanorum permoti, legatos ad Cæsarem de deditione mit- <N=XIII.>tunt: & petentibus Rhemis vt conservarentur, impetrant.
