Linne la rap porte; rnais elle tlifrere des Juliennes p::tr fon frigmate fimple, & n'a point fon calice liche commc les Sifimbrcs. Sa tige efi: haute de fix i huit pouces , gr~lc' feuillee' rameure' & hcriflee de poils blancs 1cparcs Ies uns des autres. Ses fcuillcs , font alongees ' ctroites a leur bafe ' vont en s'elargimmt vers leur fommet, qui fe termine en pointe , & ont environ un pouce & demi de longueur. Elles font velues, rudes au toucher , d 'un verd grildtre, & dccoupces en lyre , ou garnies de chaque cr)te de dents cunciformes. Les fleurs font d'un violet pale , tennincnt les tiges & les rameaux , formant de petits corymbes laches & d'un afpeCl: alfez 2greable. Elles ont leur calicc fcrre, le lin.be de leurs pctales ouvert, & produifent des fil iques menues , longues d'un pouce ou i-peu-prcs. Cette plante crott dans les lieux iablonneux des llrovinGes mcridionalcs de la France ; elle fe trouve auffi en Allcmagne & dans la Sui!fe. On la cultive au JMdin du Roi. 8· ( v. v.) Obferv. Elle porte a fon fommet un beau corymbe de fleurs purpurincs , dont les intcrienres ont des pedoncules trcscourts, & les cxterieures font fou.tenues par des pedoncules un peu plus alonges. Ces fleurs (ont a!fez gr::tndes , & ont le limbe de leurs pctales· ovale & ouvert.
