Thefe feveral flowers are fometimes fituated on the fame plant, but more fre-quently on difFerent ones of the fame fpecies. , Thefe characters fufficiently difi:inguifh the Anthofpermum, without a farther defcription. The male flowers have five petals and five fiamina : the female flowers have five petals and two fi:yles: the fruit is :lingle and bilocular, and !lands under the receptacle of the flofcule.
