Sz"nuato -dentated exprelfes a leaf like the former, but with the lateral lobes of a linear figure. Retorfum jinuatum exprelfes a leaf with finus's at the fides, and with the lobes which divide them pointed, and turned toward the bafe, like the beards of an arrow. Qyinquepartitum, divided into five parts; a leaf that is feparated into five parts, down to the very bafe, fo as to feem made up of five feparate leaves, till clofe!y examined. In the fame manner, a leaf is faid to ue bipartite, tripartite, &c. when the parts it is feparated into are two, three, &c. in number. Int~grz~m, or hzdivifum, exprefs a leaf wh ch is intire, and not cut in with any finus in the difk of the leaf. The term integerrimum exprefies yet more, that it has no divilion, or finuation, of any kind in the border, any more than in the ddk. Dentatum, dentated, expreffcs a leaf whofe edge is befet wi,h horizont:1l points, of the fame matter with the leaf itfelf, and difl:inct and feparate from one another. Serrated exprelfes a leaf whofe edge, or border, is notched like a faw, or furnilhed with points, which make acute angles, and ate placed one bending toward the OLher, and all toward the top. Undulated expreifes a leaf, the exterior part of the difk of which is of more extent than a circle of the fame diameter, fo that the edges are neceffitated to rife and fall in a regular manner. .. Rugofe exprelfes a leaf the veins of which are funk deep, and between which the membranous_ and flc::iliy part of the leaf rites in irregular forms, fo as to give, upon the whole, a wrmkled furface. Venofum expreffes a leaf on the furface of which there are a vaft number of branched vclfels, which frequently unite, in an odd manner, one with another. Nervojitm exprelfes a leaf the vefiels of which are fimple, and extend themfelves parallely from the bafe toward the fummit, without any ramifications.
