It IS formed of three valves, and contams a fingle cell; the feeds are numerous, oval, and minute. 1. Franhenia jloribus axillaribus folitariis. The radical leaves are an inch long, three quarters of an inch broad, thm, foft to the touch, and ferrated. The fialk is five or fix inches high very fiender, and u_fually ~endin~. The flowers are fmaller than thofe of the former/ they are of a beautiful milk-whtte colour, and il:and in a kind of clufier, on one fide only of the fialk. The antherre are longer than the corolla, and the il:igma is prominent beyond them. It is a nc,ttive of moll: parts of Europe, in woods. C. Bauhine calls it, Pyrola folio mucronate ferrato; Clufius, Pyrola tenerior. The other fpec~es are, I.
