Show 3903 Edwards- D 1924 Q How long did it take you to make that second trip? A I think about the same time as the first. Q And the same distance? A Made it the same exactly, the same distance. Q Coming up the river did you have about the same trouble as you did on the first trip? A Well, yes, about the same; we had quite serious trouble getting out of the Colorado. The Grand river had had some flood that had gone down just a little too far, and our boat wasn't get out of there was by use of a block and tackle, lining along the shore. Q Did you get the boat up to Greenriver? A No sir. Q Where about did you leave it? A Wheeler's ranch. Q On the second trip? A On the second trip. Q And tied it up at Wheeler's ranch? A Yes. Q Do you know what became of the Major Powell? A Yes sir. In 1894 I was over on the Green river with a mining company, about seven or eight miles below the bridge on the Green river. While we were there, four fellows brought the Major Powell up to our camp and abandoned it. |
