Q did you seen any other boats other than this boat which you found? A No sir. Q Then what did you do with that boat? A Brought it back up where we got it and left it. Q How did you bring it up stream? A Towed it. Q About what time of the year did you come back to the point where you had entered the Colorado river? A I think it was early in January. Q You left the boat then and went across to the right bank of the Colorado river? A Yes, I think we crossed at Good Hope bar; then there is a trail from there around up to Dandy crossing. Q How did you get your stock across the river? A I don't remember how we got them back; I don't remember whether there was a ford down there; I think there was. I think we used that boat to carry our stuff across, and let the animals. Q Mr. Edwards, who was in the party besides yourself? A An engineer from the Rio Grande Railroad by the name of Green; he practically had charge of the party; Cy Warman |
