Show 3868 Gerdine- RD 1889 Q This photograph, No. 260 Exhibit 11 D, appears to have been taken on August 9, 1921. A Then I am wrong about July; that was August, then, that I was up there first, because the boat, this boat -- she subsequently had a stern paddle wheel attached to it. There is no wheel there now, so it was on August 9th instead of July. Q What is this up- right post that appears in the picture of the boat with a line attached to it? A That is a standard to which the line was attached for towing the boat. MR. BLACKMAR: In connection with Mr. Gerdine's testimony I call attention in Exhibit 90, the stream flow record at Lees Ferry, to the stream flow on August 9, 1921, 17,500. MR. FARNSWORTH: Is that the nearest date? MR. BLACKMAR: That checks with the photograph. That is all. FURTHER EXAMINATION BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q I may be a little stupid, but I still can not see why these maps wouldn't be of some assistance to a person coming down the river. There topographic maps, sheets A and B, which represent the Colorado river from Lees Ferry to the junction, the Green and Grand, and the San Juan river, were |
