A He was mapping the country, taking the topography up to this limiting contour; he had already established that; that was thirty- nine hundred feet above sea level; he was taking all the topography below that contour. Q What was the object of your visit there? A I was supervising the work, to see that he was getting along with his work, if any obstacles ahead of him, if he could provide against them, and see how much time he was making, if he was keeping up with the schedule, so if he didn't complete the work allotted to him, we could put in other men and try to complete the job in that season. Q Did you check the accuracy of his work? A No. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q What is a limiting contour? A If you will notice, we carried the topography up to the thirty- nine hundred foot contour, thirty- nine hundred foot contour above sea level. Q You disregarded everything above that? |
