A The way the work was laid out was that one party would descend the river from Greenriver, Utah, down the Green and Colorado rivers as far as possible; the second party -- Q Just a minute. Who was in charge of that party? A Mr. Chenoewith. Q Did you visit that party? A We started in at Hanksville; there was a washout; we couldn't get to them. Q Where was the washout? A Down below Hanksville in river -- what river is that? I think that is called the Dirty Devil,-- I don't remember the name; had to refresh my mind with the map. Q Then you didn't find the Chanoewith party? A Not after they started down below Greenriver. Q That is, below the mouth of the Green river? A No, Greenriver, Utah; I mean the town of Greenriver. Q How did you get up there to Hanksville? A We went across there in a car. |
