A Manager of the Alhambra Steam Laundry. Q Have you had any experience during your lifetime with boats? A Yes sir. Q What experience have you had? A I was two years on the United states training ship enterprise Cadet, had intensive life boat training; two years after that on merchant ships; spent two years in sailing, and two years in steam ships. I have an official life boat certificate, second mate's license, unlimited, navigator. I have made a trip up the Columbia to the Dallas, portaged an eighteen- foot boat across to Fort Benton. Made a trip down the Missouri to st. Louis, then up the Mississippi to Grafton, turning into the Illinois river from there on up to Chicago. That was in 1925 I made that trip. That is prior to the Colorado river trip. Q Have you ever been on the Colorado river? A In 1927, November and December, with the Pathe- Bray |
