Show 3872 Edwards- D 1893 Q Mr. Edwards, how old a man are you? A Born December 6, 1866. Q Where is your residence at the present time? A Chapton, California. Q Generally, during your lifetime, what has been the scope of you education, profession or business? A You mean how much schooling? I went through the eighth grade and went to work. Q From that time I would like to know just what business or profession you followed. A I was born in New York; my father passed away of tubercular trouble at a very young age; they thought best for me to come west. I came to Colorado when I was twenty years old, in 1887, and for the next ten years I lived under my hat; I lived out in the outdoors all the time. Q What occupation were you following? A With mining companies, railway surveys and other things of that kind, outdoors, cattle ranches, other work of that kind. Q From that time down to the present time what have you been doing? A I have been in the ice manufacturing business for thirty- two years. Q And you operate a plant now at Compton, California? |
