Show 3840 Gerdine- D 1861 A Yes, sir. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q At that point why did you run it up to thirty- nine hundred and stop? A That was approximately the upper contour of the proposed reservoir site; we wanted to get the area that would be included, that is, the water covered area if the dam should be built, and also find out what grounds it would cover, and the map was made primarily to make an estimate of the storage capacity of the reservoir. Q Do I understand that the top of this dam as proposed to be constructed would have been thirty- nine hundred feet? A No, they might have constructed a dam of any height; that was simply to get the data up to thirty- nine hundred feet, so they would have the data if we wanted to construct that high; I don't think they ever proposed to make a dam that height, eight hundred foot dam in that canyon. THE SPECIAL MASTER: In order to get it into the record, let it be shown the contour figures on this Exhibit 10 do not show the height of the canyon walls, necessarily, but only go up to thirty- nine hundred feet. THE WITNESS: There may be places on the map where the topography is above thirty- nine hundred feet. I think generally throughout the whole map you will find the upper or limiting contour is a thirty- nine hundred foot contour. THE SPECIAL MASTER: I feared some one might be confused |
