Show 3906 Edwards- D 1927 Then when we came back, we came back north to Red canyon, and to the river, and we had an engineer with us from the railroad company; we picked up an old boat and dropped down fifteen or twenty miles to some placer claims on the Colorado, and then towed the boat back up to where we had our animals, recrossed the river, and came back out to Greenriver by way of Hanksville. Q You followed the same road you did when you went on the second Stanton, from Greenriver to Hanksville? A Yes sir. Q Did you notice any change in the country as to the population, and so forth? A No sir. Q Still nobody in there? A Didn't see very many people. Q when you went to Hanksville, then what route did you use to the Colorado river? A The head of -- it is the next canyon south of Crescent creek, what we knew at that times as Crescent creek; that brought us right down in to Hite. Q Do you know the name of the creek you came down? A I do not. Q Did this road or trail that you took down to the Colorado river bring you right down to the place known as Hole-in- the- Rock? |
