Show 3816 Priest- D 1837 of the river with reference to whether it was high or low water? A I would say it was probably low water period, or nearly so; I reached that conclusion that in general the river during the months of August and September, unless there were rains, is at its -- not a minimum low stage, but at a low stage. Q Between Farmington and Bluff did you have occasion to cross the river at any places? A I did not on this trip; however, we did cross the river on the survey I mentioned. Q At what point did you cross the river? A Both above and below Bluff, that is, between bluff and the dam site and from Bluff up to the end of the reservoir site, some thirty or forty miles. Q Were your crossings more or less accidental, or were they part of your work? A They were necessary; you had to cross the river to make your surveys. Q In crossing the river did you take into consideration the character of the river bed? A I did. Q Was that part of your scientific work? A Yes, Q What situation did you find at those points with reference to the river bed? |
