Q What Mr. Stone referred to was some kind of detachable board that went underneath to steady the boat? A No, ours were rigid. Q Have you ever seen that used in connection with boats? A Detachable keel? I have seen center boards used, not detachable. Q This is similar to a center board, to a fan center board. Have you ever seen that used? A On the river? Q Yes. A No sir. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q I am not sure whether or not I asked you the draft of these boats. A Loaded, around eight inches; I would say perhaps a little more than that on the radio boat I had, because we had some heavy batteries, broadcasting equipment; not over nine or ten at the greatest, I would say about eight inches draft. Q Did you carry a radio operator? |
