Show 3886 Edwards- D 1907 canyon. We made arrangements with wheeler brothers to take a lot of this by wagon around to Dandy crossing, which they did. Q The Wheeler brother ranch was on the left or the right- hand side? A On the left- hand side going down. From there down we passed through Labyrinth canyon and Stillwater - I don't know which way they come, one or the other. The current crosses back and forth, as I will probably tell you later; it is pretty hard to tell where it crosses, so we were on the sandbars quite a little; couldn't tell where the crossing would be from one side of the river, in different bends of the river. Q In that stretch of the river through Labyrinth and Stillwater canyon, did your boats ground on sandbars frequently? A Not as frequently as I did on the later trip down there, on account of the water conditions. But we were on sandbars plenty. Q How did you get off these sandbars? A Got out and waded, or push off with the cars, or rock the boats, any way we could. Q From the mouth of the Green river to the head of the cataracts, did you experience any difficulty in there? A No sir. Q Just how did you get through Cataract canyon? |
