Show 3814 Priest- D 1835 down the San Juan river in that manner. I arrived at Bluff, Utah, some two or three days later, and from there I went the next day to what is called the Gooseneck, on the San Juan river, in the vicinity of what is called Mexican Hat. At that time I was seeking dam sites to be surveyed by this party I have previously referred to. I found a dam site, very desirable location, at this so- called Gooseneck, and made my way then back to Bluff and on to my party, that was working on the Doloras river. Then later, after the completion of some work there, moved in to Bluff and began the survey of this dam side and reservoir site, a topographic survey. Q Did you continue with that party? A I was not with them all the time, no; my duties were seeking reservoir sites and dam sites to be surveyed by this party. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Was this dam site you are referring to what appears on the Reclamation Bureau map of 1928, Exhibit 2, as Bluff dam site? A Yes. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Did you locate any other dam sites above the San Juan river? |
