Show 3859 Gerdine- 1880 MR. BLACKMAR: Of course those features, your Honor, refers to must necessarily be made by soundings. A reef not exposed would have to be made by sounding. THE SPECIAL MASTER: I don't believe there are any rocks shown on there. That is all, Mr. Gerdine. CROSS EXAMINATION BY MR. FARNSWORTH: THE SPECIAL MASTER: Do you want this to examine him from, Mr. Farnsworth? MR. FARNSWORTH: No. Q Mr. Gerdine, you didn't put rocks on the map, any indication of their presence? A No. Q Why not? A I don't think the scale of the map could show all of the rocks in some of the falls or rapids. Q If there were any extended stretch of rock, there would be no reason why you wouldn't show it? A As I said a moment ago, I don't think the scale of the map will permit showing the great number of rocks that occur in the different rapids. Q Naturally you couldn't put on each rock, anything of that sort. |
