Show 3786 Rodin- D 1807 Q To what extent were they damaged. THE SPECIAL MASTER: He has already testified to that in Cataract canyon. MR. BLACKMAR: I did not get the extent they were damaged A It was damaged enough we had to stop and take the cargo out of the boats and pack it up. Q Tell me about your trip after you left Narrow canyon and from there on down to Lees Ferry. A Well, we didn't have very much difficulty to go through, except we had occasional sandbars; the most difficulty, it was very cold weather. Didn't have much work to do, so it was pretty cold. That, I think, was most what we suffered from; it was the late part of the year. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Did you wear your life preservers after you got through Cataract canyon? A No sir. In case you would have to have a moving picture taken -- THE SPECIAL MASTER: No, I mean did you wear them. A No. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Did you encounter any rapids after you left Cataract Canyon, or riffles? A Riffles, yes, a few. |
