Show 3780 Rodin- D 1801 A For two years I have been fishing around southern California coast. I don't own any boat, but used to handle them skiffs and help to work on the power boats, gasoline launches, you know, about forty- five feet long or so; i used to run through the surf, used to land the boats on the beach, and then every morning we would go out to the surf and go out fishing. That has been most of the experience I have had. Q Did you ever make a trip on the Colorado river? A with this expedition, yes, the moving picture expedition, Pathe- Bray expedition. Q Was that the same expedition that Mr. Clark was on? A Yes sir. Q Who was in charge of the party? A Mr. La Rue. Q Did he operate one of the boats? A No, he did not; he was just in charge of the expedition, and most of the responsibility of going through they had in charge of the chief boatman, Frank Dodge. La Rue was in charge of the expedition, but he didn't know much about how to navigate the boats, and Frank Dodge was mostly responsible to get through safely. Q Do you recall the day you left Greenriver, Utah? A Yes sir. Q What day was it? A The 10th of November. |
