Show 3711 Clark- D 1732 the power to do it, the sandbars would bother me so much I couldn't make it, that is, without difficulty of going on sandbars all the time. Q This first trip you made up there was in July of 1926? A Yes sir. Q Could you fix that date, as to whether it was the last half or the first half? A It was the first half of July. Q During the first half of July? A Yes sir. Q Have you ever observed the sandbars in the river? A Yes sir. Q Can you tell me the effect of the rising and falling water upon those sandbars? THE SPECIAL MASTER: Where? BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q At what point have you observed the sandbars? A I have observed them there at Lees Ferry. I ran a ferry boat there for about a year and a half, and I observed them when I was running this ferry boat; lots of times the bars would form there in half an hour or an hour's time; you go back scross and the bars would be cut out, so I figured the bars would change there in an hour's time, bar would come in and bars would go out again. |
