Show 3709 Clark- D 1730 motors. Q Did you use the same hull? A No sir, I used a different hull. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Was this Last Chance up near that Azten creek? A It is below that; the Last Chance creek comes in on the north side of the river, just above warm creek. It is about twenty miles above warm creek. MR. BLACKMAR: It is about twenty miles below Aztec, according to the map. Q Before we get into that, what did you do with the hull of this first boat that you took up there? A I just abandoned it; it is still there at Lees Ferry. Q Then what other boats did you experiment with? A I experimented with a boat we call a row boat, that is, a small boat, a boat I would say about fourteen foot long, about four foot beam, with an out- board motor on it. Q Did you attempt to take that boat up stream? A Yes sir, I went up about seven or eight miles with that. Q What luck did you have? A Didn't have very good luck with it; didn't have enough power, and then I had trouble getting on bars with it. Q Is that the last boat that you experimented with? |
