Show 453 C Street-1909 Architect/Builder: UJ oc D O Building Type/Style: craftsman Building Materials: brick Description of physical appearance & significant architectural features: (Include additions, alterations, ancillary structures, and landscaping if applicable) UJ t I O oc This house is basically a hip-roofed cube. There is a center dormer on the front of the roof, two second story wooden bay windows project from the southeast and northwest corners, a one-story wooden porch runs across the front of the house, and there is a one story wooden south side bay window. Both this massing and the details show the influence of the Arts andCrafts Movement of the period. Rafters are left exposed in the eaves. The bay windows are covered with wood shingle siding and supported by brackets. Brick is earthtone, redder on the second story than on the first. The front porch is very plain with simple wooden decoration. The house is similar to 1176 2nd Avenue. -Thomas W.
