Show JAN 1 4 1980 During his years in SLC, he became nationlly known in the mining industry for his contributions to the advancement of ore dressing and treatment. He was a member of the American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers and served as Chairman of its Utah Chapter for several years. He was also a member of the Utah Society of Engineers, The American Mining Congress, and the Utah Metal Mines Operator's Association. He wrote numerous articles for professional mining journals. Gaylord owned the house until his death in 1943, following which David J. Ellison bought the house. According to SLC Directories, he was vice-president of the Keith O'Brien Department Store. His obituary did not appear in SLC newspapers and no other information about him has been found. In 1958 Ellison sold the house to F. Bain Hoopey, who worked as an electrical engineer for Utah Power and Light Co. |
