As the center expands and grows, there is an increasing need for greater community support and for additional volunteers. The Salt Lake Rape Crisis Center provides various types of service to the community, it's primary service being crisis intervention to victims of rape and sexual assault through a twenty-four hol)r crisis line. This crisis line is operated on the call forwarding system which means that trained voluntters answer the crisis line, after it has been coded to ring into their homes. There are alsoa number of additional services, committees, and special projects which might be of interest to League members in addition to working on the crisis line itself. The symposium is made possible by The Asia Society of New York. Additional funding is provided by the College of Humanities, Business, Social and Behavioral Science, the departments of History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Languages, and Anthropology, and the Association of Asian Studies. It is free and open to the public. For further information contact Ann Walthall, Department of History, University of Utah, SLC, 84112, 581-5195 or 51.86121.
