Show LATE JULY WILL BE COMMENT PERIOD FOR THE CANYON MASTER PLAN given program. For example, if we reduce the welfare grant levels (most affecting single mothers with children) by 17%, the state wold save $2.6 million, but we would lose $10.1 million in Federal funds, for a total cut of $12. 7 million. Other services which would be severely reduced or eliminated: What should the Wasatch Canyons look like by 201 0? Should the ski resorts build more lifts and condominiums? Is a lift system to connect Park City with Brighton and Alta desirable? What happens when mountain bikers and families with kids and dogs all use the same trail? How about automobile traffic and parking the canyons? The public will have opportunities for comments on these controversial issues at the following public meetings. At that time, various alternative scenarios will be presented--the result of work by the consulting firm, Bear West, with help from the Citizens' Committee and the County Planning Office. The option document showing different scenarios for the Wasatch Canyon will be available from July 15th at the following locations: Handicapped services -- cut services to 700 children in State Training School and 400 in group homes. Family services (foster care, spouse abuse, child abuse programs). Aging services (Meals on Wheels, nursing care of 1, 100 elderly people).
