" These were bred here from larvae that we brought down from Ulundi, and represent the normal wet-season form in S. Africa." In Nyasaland this species tends to produce better defined red internervular streaks on the under surface, whilst the black markings on the secondaries (and notably the submarginal black band) are generally less strongly defined than in Southern examples: these differences, however, are not constant, and therefore cannot be relied upon as specific characters. 29.
