Palpi upturned, about twice the length of head and reaching well above the vertex, fringed with long hair above; frons rounded; antennae somewhat annulate ; mid legs with large tufts of scales at middle and end of tibiae. Fore wing of male with a tympanic vesicle at base of costa, usually with two excisions beyond it ; the retinaculum annular ; the frenulum much thickened and with a short lower fork; vein 3 from before angle of cell; 4, 5 from angle; 6 from upper angle ; 7, 8, 9 stalked ; 10, 11 free. Hind wing with veins 3, 4, 5 from angle of cell; 6, 7 from upper angle, 7 anastomosing with 8. Salobrena excisana, Q*. SECT. I. (Salobrena).
