Show 3688 Clark- D 1710 A No sir, just the oars. Q All of them row boats? A Yes sir. Q Do you recall that part of the trip between Greenriver, Utah, and the mouth of the San Rafael? A Yes sir. Q Just tell me, please, in detail, about that trip. A Starting out from Greenriver, the first five miles we didn't have no difficulty; but after that the difficulties we had was going over riffles. The boat I had, I believe, was the heaviest loaded, and there was several places where she dragged on the bottom, but not enough so she stuck, but just catch in the water; the water would bank up behind here, and ease her off. It run that way for I guess two or three miles, there was a stretch through there, riffles like that. Then further down there was two of the boats that got in shallow water and got stuck on sandbars, and I think they was fifteen or twenty minutes getting them off, the men that was in the boats had to get out and above them off these bars.
