Q Yes. A Well, the last trip I was in there was two years ago, but I lived in San Juan from 1880 until 1911, and I have been back several trips since then; practically every year I go in and out there. Q From what point did your father obtain the merchandise which he sold at his store? A After we first landed there, the first goods that we got in there we hauled from Alamosa, Colorado; the railroad later moved down as far as Arboles, New Mexico; that is the Rio Grands station; and later they built a line through to Durango, Colorado, and we got our goods there; and we made several trips to Santa Fe, New Mexico, for goods. Q Did you store have any connection with any Salt Lake City merchants? Did you buy any goods at Salt Lake City? A No, only what we took in with us when we went there first, a small stock. Q You never purchased any after that? A No sir. Q During the time you were in that country did your father ever receive any of his supplies by way of the San Juan river |
