A Yes, I rode from Salt Lake City almost to San Bernardino, that is, south of the San Bernardino mountains, in 1875, by way of Kanab and the Virgin river. Q In 1876 did you continue at work? A Yes, and I made a second trip as far as Las Vegas, I think it was, and back again to St. George and Kanab. Then I was around the Grand Canyon and various parts of southern Utah and northern Arizona at that time. Q In 1884 and 1885 you were in the western country? A Yes, I was on the south side of the canyon in 1884 and 1885, traveled up to the Four Corners, as they call them, where Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico come together, and I lived also on the first mesa of the Hopis, with the Hopis, for four or five weeks, and spent the remainder of that winter at Keen's canyon, fourteen miles from -- Q And in 1899 were you out in that country? A 1899 I came through Salt Lake City only up to the northwest coast. Q 1903? A 1903 I was down in the Zion's country in Grand Canyon on the north side of the river, all around through that region.
