Q Have you ever seen any boats on the San Juan river? A Yes. Q What kind of boats? A Skiffs, usually, for crossing the river. Q Have you ever seen any boats used for trade and travel up and down the San Juan? A I have seen two small skiffs for carrying men, prospectors, somebody like that, during the time I have known it. Q What point did you see them? A One was from Fruitland to Bluff; the other came in above, from somewhere, and went in below Bluff, prospecting; I don't know just how far down they got; I don't know where they entered the river: I just happened to be there and saw them coming in.
