FARNSWORTH: The map correctly indicates it, Q doesn't it, your idea of where that trail went? A Yes. It crosses the headwaters of the San Juan. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Not the San Juan proper? A I don't know about that; probably may have crossed one of the small -- depends on what you call the headwaters of the San Juan. Q At what point did it cross the Colorado river, that branch of it that was formerly known as the Grand? A At Moab. Q That is where the town of Moab is now located? A Yes. Q From that point where did it proceed? A Went northwesterly to Gunnison crossing. Q And that is where Greenriver, Utah, is located at the present time? A Yes, that is the point. Q Now, generally describe the progress of that trail from that point on. A It went across the Wasatch uplift in several of the valleys that were convenient getting through down to about where Freemont pass is, and made its exit there into the valley, into the |
