Q Mr. Hyde, in the early days down there, say from the time you want there down to 1895, were there any settlers west of Bluff, Utah? A From the time I got there until 1895, you say? Q Yes. A No, I don't think there was, only traders, that was ourselves, down at the mouth of Comb wash; we were in there; there was no settlers below that within about ten miles from Bluff. Q What is the character of the country in there? A Well, it is a rough, rugged sandstone, sandy country, desert. Q Have you done considerable farming in your lifetime? A I farmed quite extensively, yes. Q Is this country west of Bluff the kind of contry that can be farmed? A I would consider it very poor agricultural country. Q My question is, could it be farmed?
