A Just below the mouth of Comb wash, near the mouth of Chanle; there is a riffle there, the rocks are a little larger than in some other places; you can step from one to the other in extreme low water. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q The mouth of the Comb wash is where they have the ferry, isn't it? A We had a ferry there at one time; there is no ferry there now. Q When did they use the ferry, what times of year? A During the high water season. Q What months would that be? A June and July, as a rule. Q Only use the ferry two months in the year? A I would say from sixty to eighty- five days in the year, only when heavy thunder- showers come and swell the river. The ordinary high water, I do not think it is ever so you have to run boats there more than ninety days during the season. BY MR. A Starts in, as a rule, in the latter part of July, and we get some freshets then and generally dries up again, and the |
