Q As long as you have been in that country, has there been considerable wool raised in the San Juan country? A A great deal of it. Q Grain and other products? A The grain usually came from Fruitland by the river, Fruitland, New Mexico; the wool usually came from Navajo trading stores down along the river; the other wool raise there was raised in the Monticello and Blanding country, out towards the Blue mountains, not right along the river. Q Do you know how that wool and the other things which were raise there were shipped out of that country? A Yes. Q How? A By teams. Q What section of the Colorado river are you familiar with? A I have been on it from Vasey trail about twenty- five miles below the Bright Angel trail to the mouth of the Grand Q In a boat? |
