A Yes sir. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q At how many places between Bluff and the mouth of the San Juan can you get into the canyon? A You can get into the canyon at practically Comb wash is a crossing, mouth of Comb wash it is open. It is open again at Mexican Hat, or Goodrich. There is no other places you can get in there, with the exception of possibly riding, leading a horse and get in from one side. You can get down the Honaker trail, that is about eight or nine miles down the river from Goodrich. Then, at the mouth of the Clay Hill gulch, or mouth of Moonlight canyon, the same thing, you can go in there; then you can travel down the river from there to Zahn's old camp, afoot or horseback. Been some trails made in there so you can get down there. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Down along the bed of the river? A No, not along the bed. Q I mean the bottom of the canyon. |
