Q Just tell me generally what course you took. A We went from Salt Lake City to Escalante, and across the Escalante desert to the Colorado river, crossed the Colorado river at what is know as the Hole- in- the- Rock. I notice you call it the " Hole- in- the- Wall", here; but it is the same place. We went from there in an easterly direction. Q Just a minute. How did you get across the Colorado river? A There was a man named Hall running a ferry there, had a flat boat about thirty feet long; he run it with paddles, paddled it across the river behind a power boat. Q How large a party were you with? |
