Show 1536 3514 25 Dellenbaugh- D makes some remark about that, that the testimony come in. I see no objection to his question so far. MR. FARNSWORTH: He states, you say so- and- so in this book. THE SPECIAL MASTER: Mr. Blackmar's reading it doesn't make it so - doesn't make it testimony, unless it is properly receivable in evidence. MR. FARNSWORTH: I contend counsel is not entitled to read it. THE SPECIAL MASTER: I think he is entitled to ask the particular question he has. ( The stenographer read the last preceding question, as follows: " Page 140 of your Canyon Voyage, it is recited: " The next day, October 4th, we ran into a stratum of sandstone shale, which at this low state of water, for about five miles gave us some trouble. " Can you locate that point on the river?" BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q The question is, can you locate that point referred to there. MR. FARNSWORTH: We note an exception. A Of course it is very difficult to locate a particular point like that from memory now, but I should say it was a few miles below the mouth of the Dirty Devil, seven or eight miles below the mouth of the Dirty Devil. |
