Show 3661 Hyde- D 1683 in boats? A Water way? Q Yes. A No sir. Q Did you ever ship anything out by boats? A No. Q Later on did you get some supplies in from Thompson, Utah? A Yes, that is, after I quit the trading business, the settlers on the San Juan hauled a good deal of their stuff from Thompson Springs. I never hauled any, myself. Q Do you know when the town of Moab was established? A I do not; I can't call the year that was established. Q When was the first time you were ever at Moab? A Well, it has been about, I guess about 1890. Q Did you have any business connections over there at Moab? A No, not at that time. Q Do you know how the merchants at Moab received their supplies? A They got their supplies from Utah, mostly, came through by rail to Thompson Springs; and they also got supplies from Grand Junction, Colorado; but they were all hauled in from that side. Q You mean hauled in overland? |
